Christmas time is here and over too soon with New Years on the way.

In collaboration with Asociatia Action, Asociatia Omania, and with the participation of Huo Yuzhen, the newly appointed ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Romania, our children finished their Christmas dance performances for the season in a spectacular event in Voluntari, Romania.

Among other performers,  our children were able to help delight the audience. Please see pictures and videos in the gallery below.

Another highlight of this Christmas was our  Christmas  “Walking in a Winter Wonderland” shoe  Campaign for  ”Asociatia Mia’s Children”.
We were aiming for 50 pairs of new winter boots for the children and young people that Mia cares for at her center.

We are thrilled to announce that with the help of numerous concerned individuals and companies, we were able to donate 90 pairs of new winter boots for Mia’s children and other needy families.  Also donated were gift bags with hats, gloves,  socks and yummy  Christmas treats as well as pens to use for artwork &  school work.

The same day the shoes were delivered, the children also enjoyed a special performance  by “Sunetul Muzicii” (“Sound of Music”), the famous Romanian  children’s singing group,  making this truly a Winter Wonderland for them this holiday season.

We geared up for Christmas and our opening performance was for Mia’s Children Asociatia.

Our Dance troupe put in long and hard hours practicing their routines and it really showed. They preformed wonderfully and the 40 children at Mia’s Children loved it.

Not only did the children get to see our dance troupe preform, but they were more than happy to join in the fun too.  Our volunteers acted out stories and led the children in some action songs where they all had a blast.

Then it was their turn. The children had prepared their own dance and performances for us to enjoy to.

After all of this singing and dancing we were able to provide snacks and drinks, with the help of Fornetti, Cryom and our friends who baked cookies and other treats,  for them to enjoy.

Finally we were also able to provide Christmas presents of hats and scarfs for them too.

This was a great way to start off the Christmas season.

It’s coming up to that wonderful time of year again.  Christmas is fast approaching and we along with Asociatia Action are gearing up to spread some cheer through singing and dancing.

We have put together a dance troupe consisting of 7 children from both associations who are excited about performing for others and are working hard to get it right.

The children ages range from 5 to 14 years old. Some have been preforming for previous Christmas shows over the last 6 years and others of the group are launching out for the first time.

November 14th marks the International World Diabetes Day, when all over the world activities are organized  to help raise the awareness for the prevention of diabetes – Visit: http://www.idf.org/worlddiabetesday.

Here are some details of one of the event in Bucharest, Romania:

Marie Curie Children’s Hospital.

Along with our friends from Asociatia Faborisa, and “Zburdalici” puppet theater, we put together an entertainment program for the children, under care of Marie Curie Hospital, and their parents. The event was supplemented by snacks and refreshments donated by “Fornetti and Cryomand. Approximately 100 people gathered that day to enjoy the event.

During the opening of the event Dr Mihaela Mihu took the time to welcome everyone and shared tips and information in regards to diabetes.

After that everyone’s attention was grabbed by Fabian Sancez, from Asociatia Faborisa, whose clown performance kept everyone in stitches, from the youngest to the oldest. Both children and parents were laughing and applauding at his funny antics.  It is said that laughter is the best medicine.

The next treat everyone enjoyed was the performance by “Zburdalici”. The unforgettable “Wolf, Wolf” story made the children sing, made them laugh, kept them in suspense, and most of all helped instill in them the invaluable moral of the importance of honesty.

We have counted it a privilege to have had the chance for three consecutive years now to contribute in this way to the cause of raising the awareness and prevention of diabetes.

We held our second event in Bulgaria, but our very first Introduction to Coaching event in Varna on the 16th of September 2011.

There were 20 attendees. It was a very international event as well. Besides our Bulgarian attendees, we also had Romanian, Polish, British and Ukrainian by nationality. There were two people who made a 30-hour trip from Ukraine in order to attend the event, and another 2 who came all the way from Bucharest.

We are planning two future events of our Introduction to Coaching series with Gerard O’Donovan. They will be in November – in Sofia, on Nov 25th and for the FIRST time in Plovdiv on Nov 28th.

In  August we met and began helping Asociatia Mia’s Children, a Home for disadvantaged children and orphans located in Sat. Rosu near Bucharest.  Mia, her son and some helpers and volunteers care for and provide a warm and loving home life to over 35 children, from 1 to 19 years of age.

This past month we were able to provide Mia’s Children with 45 kilos of fresh beef  ( courtesy of Integra S.R.L.),  fresh fruit and vegetables, cheese and eggs as well as clothing.  We have  arranged for the Mia’s Children  to receive 50 loaves of fresh bread on a daily basis from Mirotex Exim S.R.L.  Thank you very much for your help Integra and Mirotex Exim!

Another concerned friend  donated four large bags of  new school supplies  including backpacks, note books, pencils, erasers, paints, pencil kits etc, which was a great need with most of the children starting school.  Thank you Liliana!

On May 20th we held an Introduction to Coaching seminar in Sofia, Bulgaria. We had 45 people in attendance to find out what coaching is and how it can help them in their personal lives and work. Gerard O’Donovan, CEO of Noble Manhattan,  presented the material and  gave an inspiring, fun, and interactive training day. Participants that came were able to ask him any questions about coaching. Questions answered were along the lines of; ‘What is coaching’ , ‘What does coaching do?’, ‘Who can coach?’.  Participants also had the opportunity to experience what coaching is first hand. Gerard coached all the participants  through a ‘Coaching Circle’ exercise, giving them a taste and perspective of coaching in that setting. Then he had the participants pair up and each one had the opportunity to BE a coach to the other participant and to BE coached in a one on one setting.  This way they were able to experience what it would be like as a coach and how it can help others, as well as how it feels to be the one getting help. They were also able to see the difference it makes in between one on one coaching and a group setting.

13 April — The project was in collaboration with the children of School 179, and consisted of two parts: first the students prepared an event with a charitable purpose and the income from it was donated to buy food items for children taken care of by Fundatia Lidia, as the second part of the project.

The charity show revealed so much talent among the students from School 179. It was hard to not get impressed by their artistic talent, as they performed “The Happy Prince “ dramatization. it was followed by drum performance by 11 children under the supervision of Fabian Sancez , then a traditional dance show and also a choir which everyone joined  in.

One of the children in the drumming group is suffering from autism , but all the other children helped him to stay in the show and helped him to stay in rhythm and giving him the encouragement that he needed.

The whole school attended the event – about 900 children. The funds gathered from it were greatly appreciated by Fundatia Casa Lidia as they received them as a donation and invested into buying food and some cloths for the children in Domnesti.

The finale of the project was on 19 April when  some of the children from the choir came to Domnesti and sang some songs, while Fabian entertained everyone with his captivating clown show. That day we distributed food and clothing worth 2200 ron in value.

15 April — The children from School 182 gathered together , to bring  a present – a toy for another child that is sick in the hospital. A show was also prepared involving the children from school 182. It included a drumming session and provided some traditional songs and a clown show. There were about 450 kids .

20 April — At Hospital Marius Nasta , there were approximately 60 children and also some parents. We had a show with songs followed by a clown show.  There were distributed 120 packages , also for the children that were not present from the hospital.

21 April — A show was organized in central Sfanta Maria, 40 children were present. We had a wonderful time singing together  and afterword’s a clown show. Our clown taught the children how to make a most normal object in a room, to become the funniest thing you ever saw. There was also packages distributed for all the children and for some that are living in apartments.

There were four people involved in organizing these events. We had a total of 15  people participating in helping all of  these events to take place. Almost all the logistic was provided by a very dedicated team from ALSYS TRAVEL. We were very appreciative of all their help.

In total we distributed 300 liters of juice; 200  cozonacs; 350 croissants; 100kilograms of chocolate cream; 300 pairs of  tights for the girls; 200 toothbrush and toothpaste sets; and 150 toys, not to mention a lot of love.

Potrivit articolului 84 (2) din Codul Fiscal, contribuabilii, persoane fizice, pot opta pentru direcţionarea a 2% din impozitul pe venit datorat către un ONG înregistrat în România, la alegerea fiecărei persoane.

Exercitarea acestei opţiuni nu dă naştere niciunor costuri suplimentare pentru contribuabil, iar procedura este una foarte simplă.

Opţiunea este, de asemenea, disponibilă şi pentru persoanele fizice străine care datorează şi plătesc impozit pe venit în România. Pentru anul fiscal 2010, opţiunea poate fi exercitată până la data de 15 mai 2011.

Există două modalităţi de a direcţiona cei 2%, în funcţie de sursa veniturilor contribuabilului.

Astfel, cei care obţin exclusiv venituri salariale şi nu sunt obligaţi să completeze o declaraţie anuală de venit, pot completa Formularul 230 cu detaliile organizaţiei pe care vor să o sprijine, care se va depune la organul fiscal în a cărui rază teritorială îşi are domiciliul.

Cei care obţin venituri, altele decât cele de natură salarială, fiind obligaţi să depună o declaraţie (Declaraţia 200), trebuie să completeze secţiunea specială din formularul 200 cu detaliile organizaţiei nonprofit pe care au ales-o.

Grupul 2%, www.doilasuta.ro, care are drept scop încurajarea contribuabililor spre exercitarea acestei opţiuni, este format dintr-un număr de ONG-uri şi reprezentanţi ai comunităţii de afaceri, inclusiv Fundaţia pentru dezvoltarea Societăţii Civile (FDSC), Asociaţia pentru Relaţii Comunitare (ARC) şi Camera de Comerţ în Româno – Americană (AmCham).

Schema de 2% este o oportunitate valoroasă pentru contribuabilii, persoane fizice, de a susţine iniţiative civice, şi plasează România înaintea altor ţări care nu oferă o asemenea posibilitate contribuabililor lor.

Distribuirea a 2% din impozitul datorat pe venitul net anual impozabil reprezintă un ajutor valoros pentru sectorul nonprofit, nu numai din punct de vedere financiar, ci şi prin sporirea interesului contribuabililor în ceea ce priveşte activitatea ONG-urilor. Cea mai bună cale spre succesul acestei scheme este participarea unui număr cât mai mare de contribuabili.

“Un Zambet de Paste 2011″ is a series of projects dedicated to Easter and scheduled for the week of 24.04.2011 – 30.04.2011

The project will include events for the following institutions:

- Spitalul de copii Marius Nasta–120 copii (approximately)
- Domnesti–22 copii
- Centrul Sfanta Maria–60 copi
- an event for approx 100 elderly in collaboration with ORGANIZATIA SUEDEZA PENTRU AJUTOR UMANITAR INDIVIDUAL

The goal of the project is to distribute packages for people that are in difficult situations during the Easter week of 2011, and at the same time provide meaningful entertainment program to celebrate the Easter holiday. The packages will include sweets, basic staples, toys and personal hygiene products, and books.
